🏆 The PWSO 2024 | North Eurasia League recently concluded in Moscow, offering teams the unique flexibility to compete either in-person or online.

🌐 This year's competition saw a landmark achievement as a team participating online won a prize for the first time in the league's history.

🥉 The celebrations continued on April 25 in Kazan, where students from the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University secured third place.

🎉 The ceremony was attended by industry experts: Rodion Vladimirovich Guss, Chief PWSO Moderator, and Andrey Terekhin, Deputy Director for Human Resources at KFU. All winners were honored with diplomas, medals, and gifts from PetroCup sponsors.

🏆 We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the team as they advance further to compete for N.N.N. Trophy at the PWSO finale alongside other league champions.

The PWSO 2024 North Eurasia League took place at the Sergo Ordzhonikidze Russian State Geological Prospecting University from April 16th to 17th, 2024, bringing together student talents from the region.

👨🏻‍💻 The competition drew 25 teams from five countries, including Russia, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan, comprising over 240 students. The event served as a platform that not only challenged the abilities of each team but also fostered teamwork and collaboration among the students.

Final Standings:

🥇 First Place: команда студентов Almetyevsk State Oil Institute, Russia;

🥈 Second Place: команда Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia;

🥉 Third Place: студенты Kazan Federal University, Russia.

🚀 The top teams will advance to the finals, where they will compete against the best from other world leagues for a change to win the final prize - N.N. N Cup.

🎓 The Russian State Geological Prospecting University, named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze, is a specialized higher education institution dedicated to mining engineering and related fields.

In 2024, the university joined the Eurasian League of PetroCup World Student Olympics 2024 as a co-organizer and key partner.

🌎 PWSO 2024 is an event that unites students and emerging professionals globally, all driven by a passion for geological sciences within the oil and gas sector.

During the competition, participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in various disciplines, including geology, geophysics, petroleum engineering, and others.

Moscow is set to welcome participants for the PetroCup World Student Olympics - North Eurasia League.

🎓 This year, the Russian State Geological Exploration University named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze will host students from Russia and the CIS countries.

⏰This year sees the 7th Edition of the PetroCup World Student Olympics running, drawing together students from all corners of the globe.

All students are strongly advised to register prior to the deadline.

This event offers a unique opportunity for both personal development, and professional growth.

North Eurasia League will be run first in the series, setting the stage for this competition.

🔥 PWSO is designed for students aiming to make their mark in the oil and gas industry, the event is also an ideal platform for companies to find new talent.

🥇 Throughout the year, 50 teams from around the word competed in this event, and this year N.N.N Trophy is going to the team from Kazan Federal University. This victory highlighted the exceptional skills and knowledge of the university's students. The student team showed outstanding ability and creativity, taking on competitors from different leagues.

Teams from top oil and gas universities in Russia, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia competed online.

👩🏻‍💻 Competitors tackled various challenges, including impenetrable faults, isolated reservoirs, elevated skin factors, and spontaneous fracturing, demanding sophisticated expertise and understanding of these topics.

👏🏻 Congratulations to the winners and best wishes for their ongoing success in both academia and their further endeavours. We, as organizers, promise to raise the bar with even harder challenges and even more participants from other leagues next year.

Each PWSO tournament is conducted using the PetroCup Simulator, a certified simulation tool that includes a bundle of advanced field development tools and analytics.


This tournament was created in memory of professor Nikolay Neprimerov, a prominent Soviet and Russian petroleum scientist, who used to be a professor at Kazan State University, Doctor of Technical Sciences.

For many years, his work was published in Soviet newspapers and Kazan University periodicals.

He is an author of a book about the military's day-to-day operations in front-line aviation.

Professor N. N. Neprimerov has been researching the physics of oil-bearing reservoir recovery for more than four decades.

In 2024, the Petroleum World Student Olympics (PWSO) will once again be the stage for the most talented student teams in the oil and gas sector to compete across various leagues.

Participants from around the world will gather to collaboratively develop a virtual oilfield across two intensive days.

North Eurasia League is confirmed to be hosted in a physical venue in Moscow 🔥.

👨🏻‍💻 Organized annually by Nafta College with the backing of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, the PWSO leverages the PetroCup interactive simulator. This tool offers hands-on experience to senior students at petroleum-focused universities, covering key areas such as geology, exploration, field development, and operations.

🎯 The PWSO aims to bridge the gap between academic study and the real-world challenges faced by professionals in oilfield development, enhancing the educational experience.

Participation in the PWSO not only allows students to demonstrate their expertise and skills to leading industry employers but also enables companies to identify and recruit emerging talent.

🏁 The PetroCup World Student Olympics (PWSO) Finals took place from January 29-31, where students were challenged to develop digital oilfield over the course of three days.

5️⃣ This year's tournament saw students across five oil and gas universities from Russia, Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

The final tournament was also held online, providing a platform for students worldwide to join and demonstrate their skills and knowledge in field development.

👨🏻‍💻 Each team used PetroCup simulator, to simulate a wide array of oilfield activities.

Students were faced with a wide spectrum of challenges, which included addressing sophisticated engineering and geological complications, performing data analysis, and making key strategic decisions to promote field development even further.

The PWSO Finalist team displayed exceptional performance this year. Below are the results:

🥇 The team from Kazan Federal University in Russia emerged victorious, securing the N.N.N Cup this year

🥈 The Sergo Ordzhonikidze Russian State University for Geological Prospecting claimed the second place

Throughout the year, students from petroleum universities worldwide participated in PWSO tournaments, representing their respective leagues.

In total, 50 teams participated across 4 Leagues.

Our representatives have announced plans to broaden the event's reach next year by inviting students from other countries and universities, so next year the event will be even more diverse.

Nikolai Nikolaevich Neprimerov is a distinguished figure in Soviet and Russian petroleum science. A professor at Kazan State University and a Doctor of Technical Sciences, he has a long history of publishing his research in the university's newspapers and periodicals. In addition to his academic pursuits, he wrote a novel that delves into the daily military life of a front-line.

📍 - Event date - September 26 - 27, 2023.

✔️ September 22th - Demo session and briefing. The results of this session will not affect the final score; it is a mock session that allows you to become familiar with the simulator. At the briefing, you will learn all the features of working in the simulator and the session specifications.
✔️ September 26th - The first day of the tournament, shots # 1-2 will be called.
✔️ September 27th - The second day of the tournament, shots# 3-5 will be called.

📍 - After the end of the tournament, there will be a debriefing session, during which the scores will be analyzed using the CAS table. The CAS table contains key development indicators including: production, budgeting, and activities performed on producers and injectors.

Oil and Gas students from renowned universities competed using the unique interactive simulator PetroCup. This highly anticipated event was conducted online, where the finest student teams from South Asian universities vied to secure their place in the Finals.

🔥 PWSO Middle East Gulf League (Group A) was held on May 31 - June 01, 2023.

👨🏻‍💻 The event was held online, bringing together over 40 students from four universities:

🥇 The team Sharif University of Technology (Iran) secured the first place in Group A.

🌟 This was the first tournament in the PWSO 2023 MEG League series, given the high volume of applications from MEG League countries, it was decided to split the league into two groups.

The final standings of the PWSO 2023 MEG League will be revealed once the Group B tournament is over.

🏆 The winners of the PWSO 2023 MEG League will advance to the MEG League Finals, where they will compete against teams from other leagues for a change to win the final prize - The «NNN Trophy».

🏆 - PetroCup simulator is an interactive online training and testing program focused on various upstream activities, such as exploration, field development planning, and well and reservoir management.

👨🏻‍💻 - This simulator allows users to manage a field development process, which typically takes years, in just a few days and gain practical knowledge in key disciplines, interdisciplinary collaboration, and asset management.

Participants can acquire knowledge in:

✔️Field Surveillance;
✔️Field Studies.

⚙️ - All PetroCup assets are based on real fields and have similar complications:
